Gender-Roles in Digital Spaces

In this seminar I will present an analysis of the influence of gender in a large collection of product reviews. The first half of the talk describes a general outline of the data cleaning process and a pipeline for performing an exploratory analysis of the dataset. The second half presents a confirmatory analysis based on the exploratory work and puts the results in perspective with other work on the interaction of gender and language. The data and code are made freely available online.
