Distant Viewing

Recent advances in computer vision have opened new methods of inquiry into images within the digital humanities/ humanités numériques. This talk will discuss the concept of distant viewing as a method and framework for large scale analysis of visual culture. It will then focus on the application of distant viewing to US photography and TV.
